To give our lovely kids a happy and meaningful Children's Day, ECNUAS Library host a special contest for Children's Day on the theme of “Library treasure-hunt”.
Take task, searching on the OPAC and looking for books on the bookshelves, in the afternoon of May 28th, a special"Treasure Hunt" game was held at the library. The purpose of this event is to gamify learning and have students practice the skills they have learnt in the library classes. This game helps students be familiar with the library's collection layout, classification system and equip them with information retrieval skills. This activity lasts for one week and hold in the libraries on two campuses.
In the Junior Middle School Library, the contest was broken into several steps including pre-game training, drawing lots to getthe book call No., Locating the books in the shelf. Students really like the game and actively prepared for it. Special thanks to the eighth grade student Yang Anqi, who prepared posters and help the library advocate this activity to all students. The time for activity registration was set at 12:10-12:40 on May 21st to May 23rd, and ended at 12:25 on the 21st, with 61 quotas. The quotas are full on May 21st.
The students from three grades and eight classes performed a spectacular game. The event was a time trial, three students in one group collaborating with each other. One student drew the bookcall No. Lot, another looking for the book in the shelves and the last one check the barcode number. Teamwork creates synergy; the library is filled with students’ enthusiasm. Students who found the book within 5 minutes were awarded a prize for participating this contest.
